Hey guys,

Im gonna start getting parts for a 351 build, but before i buy anything i want to make sure i can get the right headers for my setup.
I have a 3 speed manual in right now, but in the future it will get a t5. The conversion headers i have seen at mustangs plus doesnt specify if they will work with manual trannys, i assumed they would untill i was on another vendors page. I believe it was on the year one site, they stated that the hooker and hedman headers they had were for auto only and stick shift cars would need jba shortys. What i wanted were a set of either hooker or hedman long tube headers though.

Has anyone ever had a problem with headers in a stick shift car? whats the deal, are they really only for autos? Please let me know what you guys have done.

Thanks

It depends on how much you want to spend. Hedman makes some headers for this package, but they are a bi*** to install and from past discussions on this website they may or may not fit depending on what day they were made. If you go with the Hooker Super Comps you will see a major improvement in quality and they will fit! I put some on my 65 with 351W and they are sweet, Very close to the shocktowers, very tight for the clutch linkage, BUT THEY FIT AND THEY LOOK AWESOME ON THE CAR!! If you can afford the Hookers they are worth the money.
