Im thinking about this set-up. Has anyone tried this package deal? I have a 1970 302 mexican block hooker full headers duel exhaust h pipe dura spark. The rest is total stock 2v FMX 2.97 9 inch. Can I get better HP for the same 542.99 or cheaper using a different set-up or mixed parts? Im looking for more hp and gas ...hp over MPG. but for the price what do you think. Car weights about 3 tons

Thanks ron

350-2121PK??? Sounds like a Summit or Jegs part number. Without pulling out a catalog, I assume that this is the Performer RPM Intake and Cam kit. I ran this on a 289 for awhile, but never with stock heads, I also had the RPM heads. I felt that the cam was decent with the set up I had, how it will work with stock iron heads??? you will not get the full benefit of the cam or intake. If I remember, it ran good from 2500+ rpm. Again your 2.79 gears will hurt you. Just ask Sam

yes its the rpm intake and cam w/ a 600cfm carb. Should I go for a higher intake and cam powerband? say 2500-6000? Thanks Ron

What I meant, was the cam started working at 2500 up to around 5700 rpm. It is a decent package. Your problem will be with your stock iron heads. To actually get full benefit of the intake and cam, the flow through your heads has to match. Don't take this wrong, your heads will show a big improvement over your existing set up, but will not match the full potential of the package. I hope I didn't confuse the issue.

What kcode is saying is that you need to get new heads. You've got a hot cam, intake, and carb package, but it's not helping you like it should because you have stock heads.
