Does someone have a good article on U-Joints or could help explain a little. The pressed in side of the U-Joint is called what- compared to the caps that are bolted by the U clamps. Is there a list-listing industry standards such as 1260, 1310, 1330. It seems there are different size 1310 joints. How can it be a standard when it is different sizes? Advanceautoparts.com has some good pictures of U-Joints with measurements, but I dont understand which caps go where.

It has been awhile but I seem to recall two different u-joint sizes on 60's-70's Fords. The caps are the large or small but you can buy one that has smaller caps only on two of the four if you need to connect a drive shaft that uses one size to a rear end that uses the other size.
