fred Gearhead Posts: 184 From: berea ky Registered: Oct 2004	posted 08-09-2005 09:41 PM Hi guys, I am curious on a 68 Mustang coupe I can find the vin numbers on the dash the drivers door the LH fender apron and under the seats on steel rags, it has a 6 cyl engine is there anywhere on the engine that the vin number also appears. Scott H Gearhead Posts: 1480 From: Chicago area Registered: Mar 2005	posted 08-10-2005 12:12 AM Fred, It is unlikely Ford stamped the VIN on your engine. From what I've been told, most High Performance cars such as Boss 302 and 289 HiPo had a partial VIN stamped, and most 'ordinary' engines did not. Of course there will be some exceptions, but in general, you will find a date code but not a VIN.
