Hi guys,
I am curious on a 68 Mustang coupe I can find the vin numbers on the dash the drivers door the LH fender apron and under the seats on steel rags, it has a 6 cyl engine is there anywhere on the engine that the vin number also appears.

Check around the Starter near the oil pan for a machine surface which may have the VIN unless the orginal 200 CID engine has been swapped out.

Fred,
It is unlikely Ford stamped the VIN on your engine. From what I've been told, most High Performance cars such as Boss 302 and 289 HiPo had a partial VIN stamped, and most 'ordinary' engines did not. Of course there will be some exceptions, but in general, you will find a date code but not a VIN.

My 68 with orginal motor has the VIN there
