I converted from the 65 standard gauge to the 5 gauge autometer. Mustang monthly says to use the yellow/white wire and the black/green constant input and not the original black/green. I don't get the black/green part. Can anyone help?------------------ 1965 Mustang 282s cam 347 Stroker T-5z trans Edelbrock heads + intake

Use the same wires you had before, yellow/white to one side for a ground, and black/green to the other side for regulated power (meaning the voltage is stepped down from 12v by the instrument cluster voltage regulator).

there are 3 black/green connections that used to connect to the cluster. I guess my question is which one do i use? i read in another post that autometer gauges use 12volts and don't need a voltage regulator.

Look at the Autometer directions to see what they require. Are they all electric, or some mechanical? I used mechanical oil, temp, speedo, and the volts was straight battery power off the back of the ignition switch. That just leaves the fuel gauge, and which wire to use depends on what the gauge is asking for, either 12v or regulated 8-10 volts.
