On a '65 Mustang does the gas-pedal to firewall seal lip seat flush to the inside of the firewall or the outside? (is it an innie or an outie inside the engine bay?)

You want to push it through the firewall from inside the car. The largest part of the seal stays inside. So I guess in the engine bay it would be an outie.
