On a '65 Mustang does the gas-pedal to firewall seal lip seat flush to the inside of the firewall or the outside? (is it an innie or an outie inside the engine bay?)------------------

You want to push it through the firewall from inside the car. The largest part of the seal stays inside. So I guess in the engine bay it would be an outie.
