NPD specify that you must find an original "remote trunk latch" to be able to install and use their remote handle kit.

My trunk latch has a small (1" long) lever pointing downward with a small hole at the end that move with the trunk key. Definately looks like a lever used for remote control. I just can't find where the braket would attach to pull on that lever though.

Anybody knows about this (pics would be great !) ?

Most likely, you will have to fabricate
one yourself. Or adapt a similar one from
a later car, and make it work on yours.

I remember hearing that you can bolt on the remote trunk latch from a granada. I think i have a link saved but it will take me a while to find it. I will reply again though

On edit. This is the link i found. http://forums.stangnet.com/showthread.php?t=455713 It isnt exactly full of details but will give you something to look into..... David F>

Can you post a picture of it? I have never seen one but maybe we can figure something out after seeing what you have.

Could the cable have a loop or coil on the end like on the heater cables or will that not fit on your latch lever? Maybe the bracket would attach to that center brace on the taillight panel.

I know this would be easier with a picture but I haven't found time to dismount the center bracket yet

The lever has a small hole on the end to which you could fit anything that passes through its 1/8" diameter.

Now, I haven't found any pre-drilled hole on the center bracket (the one to which the latch is attached to & holding the gas retainer as well)or any remote clue as to where the bracket holding the cable housing would go. The lever must be pulled straight to the left but the bracket's side is blocking access.

What we really need is a pic from a stock situation

Worse case scenario, like Jake said, I can make my own (Lokar has a high quality one that won't bind) but I would like to keep the original concept if possible

Maybe this guy can help you!

He has a kit on ebay and it is open. Maybe he will be willing to give you a scan of the instructions. He also has an electric one with a C9AZ number on it.

Good complementary infos. That tells me that there was a bracket (holding the cable by the latch) for the stang as well I guess but it isn't sold with the remote cable kit.
