hey. i need to replace my shock towers because they have a lot of stress cracks and some of the welds are comiing apart. so i was looking at buying rplacement towers and it hit me. while i am in there i might as well put a mustang 2 suspension in there. i have heard of this being done but i have no clue what it entails and how much it would cost, where/what parts to get, etc. basically i dont know a thing about this conversion except that i heard that it is a good one. so if any of you have ever done this or have an article on it or anything that will point me in the right direction that would be great. thanks a lot guys.

Spend some time researching... I am doing my 68 right now with a Heidts crossmember (modified) and yet to be determined a-arms and brakes.. I am also doing a 67 coupe and using the complete Heidts kit.. There are numerous variations on the arms both upper and lower..There are also many different brake kits available.. Spend some time on Heidts web site and read the articles on different parts available and they have an article on the complete install There is also Reenamachine, they have some nice stuff also.. There are hundreds of manufactures of parts for this suspension as it is popular in hot-rods and Cobra's.I am peicing mine together using the best of what is available and changing it to suit my needs/taste.What i cant buy I will build, for the novice or on a budget (its not cheap)a complete kit is just what they need..Just punch in Mustang II suspension and start reading..There is always good deals on the a-arms on E-bay. I did the Rod & Custom kit which is very popular and complete. Boyd used it on the yellow Mustang they did. Owner Willie Osborne is great to work with. Just checked out the rcmotorsports stuff.I would like to see a better pic of there crossmembers.Looks like they use a true coil over shock like (kugel) and not a conversion using the stock upper tower.Thats the stuff tho...Boyd.??? Oh Ya ...he"s the guy who keeps starting $20,000 engines with no water in them just to see if they run.. ------------------ 68 Fastback 427MR 4 spd.Deluxe interior,8000 tach,140 speedo,am/fm,tilt.

..and doesn't know enough to to try a single test spark on the number 1 spark plug to see if they installed the distributor WITH A ROTOR correctly and since misery loves company, I noticed Jesse James has the same problem of not knowing how to install or test a distributor [This message has been edited by Scott H (edited 12-27-2005).]

Thanks! It actually does have a small apartment built in. My friends warned me to make the garage nice as that's where I'd end up sleeping if the wife got mad. So far so good, but I did make it nice.
