I was thinking of getting 620 front coil springs with 1" poly insulator pad and new spring perch with poly bushings. Has anyone does the same or similar, it isn't that stiff is it? I don't want it too stiff for a daily driver 65fb v8? thanks

The 620's will make a difference, don't know if you need the 1" poly spacer. While you have everything apart, you might as well lower the upper control arms and a get decent set of gas shocks. Overall, I feel the lowering of the upper arm had a more positive effect on driving than the springs.
I lowered both my 65 and 66, both have the 620 springs.
When you change the spring perches, examine the control arm where the perch is bolted, they have a tendency to crack over the years.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I'm considering similar upgrades on my '65 coupe, like inline6.1 it is a daily driver. By "lowering the control arms" I assume you mean the Shelby Drop ? Does this have a noticeable & worthwhile effect for a daily driver ? Also, shock recommendations are welcome, I've read that the KYB shocks can be harsh.

Thanks !

The white KYB shocks have a very firm control and can be a little on the harsh side.
The silver ones by KYB, the GR2 series, are ideal for an upgrade over stock without being too harsh.
