one thing to remember is always keep the points in the glove box b/c you could be driving and the pertronix just give out one day. with either of them

I have used both I and II. Both performed perfectly for me. I have a II in my 429 SCJ. But I do keep a set of points in the glove box. They are easy to switch out in case of failure. I have had better starts since the conversion other than that I have not noticed any increase in performance. My mileage seems to be a little better.

I have a "plug and play" dizzy with an Ignitor II for about a year and close to 1000 miles. No problems yet, and I don't expect any.
One of the keys seems to be to not leave the key on with the engine off. For the Ignitor I, this has caused the unit to burn out. It is supposed to be corrected for the II.
