I'm going to change the gears in my 8" rearend, probably to 3.80. I'm also looking to get a locker or something. What's a good one to get? I don't mind the clicking noices while turning. I have a t5z trans.

i have a t5 with 3.73s. first gear is pretty short in my tbird yes the v8 and the I4 t5s are different but i could go for a little less gear, damn thing doesnt even build any boost unless I hit 5 grand.what do you plan todo with the car? If your thinking about a locker im assuming a weekend warrior stang with some track time. dont forget about spools either. and if you drive in the rain a locked rear will be pretty dangerous. FWIW I have an 8.8 trac-loc in my tbird as well, can tear both wheels up plenty of parts around and it can take a beating but it isnt a true locker. ------------------ 88 thunderbird TC 2.3L Gillis at 18 psi, walbro 255 lph fuel pump, Kirban at 39 psi, 3.73 8.8" rear, rebuilt head, brand new IHI 66 mustang 200ci 3 speed Holley weber two barrel, msd 6A, 3.5 gears, 3.03 v8 three speed trans. 68 Fairlane 289 w/ auto rusting away motor is going in the mustang 79 f150 300 3 onda tree awaiting a new transmission

Forget about a spool/mini spool, from what I have heard, they are really cheap for a reason... David F.
