Hi M&M.

Would a single plane torqer II intake be too much for a stock valve 73 302 engine, used as a mild daily driver? It has the stock cam and valves for right now. I just need to dump the 2bbl soon. I might use a 600 CFM Edelbrock carb with it. Will it affect my gas milage greatly?

thanks,
wes

Yes it's to much intake,go with the Edlebrock RPM performer intake if you'll be doing more power mods,if not and your going to keep it stock go with the performer. The 600 would a good size car for either intake.

Depends on if you keep your foot out of it or not . It might be a little better, but it seems I get around 10/12 mpg city with a 600 Edel, and it's stock for now too. I got a cam/lifter set from Alex on the way, hope it makes a difference. I know if I had taller gears, my gas milage would suffer greatly, BUT, you play, you pay.

The easiest way to find something lost, is to buy a replacement.

The torquer II is junk. I had one, and wouldn't even take any money for it. I gave it away and told the guy to just take it to the recycler!

The RPM is a more modern, MUCH better designed and performing intake.
