With the T5 now in, the original yoke fits but I read elsewhere in this forum that a T5 yoke is still needed due to possible leaks. Is this true? Plus if the driveshaft fits but is now has about 3/4 inch less room between the front u-joint and the T5 seal, is this usable or do I need to have it shortened. Bear with me, I just don't want to screw this up.

Original yoke is fine.
All 28 spline yokes are the same OD.
As long as you have 1 1/2 or more space between yoke and seal with the car on the ground you are OK.
