I want to ditch my stock exhaust manifolds for headers. I have a 73 mach 1 with a t-5 conversion. Which headers fit best with a 351C 2V t-5 with cable clutch. Anyone have any experience here? I am not looking for nice expensive race headers. I would like somthing fairly affordable but they also must last a couple of years. This car is driven about 4 days a week.

Will I notice any performance gains in the bottom end... as in will there be any seat of the pants difference?
The motor is stock with exception of a performer intake and holly 670.

Tri-Ys or Hookers. Check Summit for prices. Don't cost to much.

Richard.

I'm quoting Alex from another thread, but he said Tri-y's for stock and nearly stock set-ups.

The easiest way to find something lost, is to buy a replacement.

Good luck on finding anything for a '73 351C and manual trans (reasonably anyway).
When I had my '73 mach (w/351C and 4 speed) there were only a handful of manufacturers who made headers for these cars and only 2 who made them for manual transmission cars, with both running over $500 for a set. Finally just wound up buying stock manifolds. Unless things have changed, you pretty much pay the price for any '73 headers. Doug's Headers in Anaheim make them as well as Hooker, but both are over $500.
BTW, unless I'm mistaken, tri-y's aren't made for the 351C, let alone fitting in a '73.

I am not really interested in tri-y's. I want the performance of equal length long tubes. (or close to equal length like hooker comps)

This is the plan... This summer I am going to switch to aussie 2V heads. I currently have OC 2v heads. I am going to do the cam at that time also. I want to get the headers now.. that should tie me over until this summer.
I can't afford $500 headers. I am going to put alot of $ into the heads. I was just hoping someone who has t5 in their 71-73 would chime in with personal experience of what headers I could use.
