Hi, I replaced my fuel tank sender and have my instrument panel "fixed", after that i had my tank empty, then put around 4 gallons of 91 octanes.....then my needle move for the first time but it read 3/4 full (with 4 gallons??).
Any of you had this problem?..some mechanic told me "those cars" had that problem always...they are not very precise in the fuel readings...
anyone??

Have you driven the car since you put the gas in it??? Maybe the float is sticking. My car ran out of gas on me once, but was showing 1/4 tank. Since then, I gas up at no less than a 1/2 tank to be sure.

Mine is consistent, even more now with the electronic constant voltage unit. If your other gauges are doing fine then you need to adjust the sending unit in the tank. If all gauges are off-scale you may want to check the Constant Voltage unit behind the dash board. The gauge itself is rarely at fault.

I have never dismounted a sending unit but you probably need to calibrate it (may be by bending the floating rod). Hopefully someone who has done that before can clear it up for us
