I jacked up the car today and cut off the exhaust behind the mufflers. I'm getting rid of the GT rear valance that someone threw on long ago and putting a standard one back on. Anyway, I fired the car up and HOLY SMOKES! She sounded sweet! The resonators they put on the GT exhaust kits really tone down the exhaust note. I can't wait to hear her with the side exit exhaust. I'm going to keep Flowmasters on it and run them like an AAR Cuda...

I think my wife would kill me if I used a real Shelby side exit kit with glasspacks. I know she would refuse to ride in the car. Hmmmm....nah. I'll keep Flowmasters on it. hehe

You could do the exhaust up like mine and I'd guarantee she won't ride with you ;^)

If you're doing an "H" clone, don't you want it exiting the rear? It will still sound sweet with flowmasters (That's what mine has), and you can still listen to the radio if you want. Side exiting will most likely deafen you and you'll probably end up switching to rear exit later on anyway.

Hey, neat looking exhaust. I like the look of that. What brand is it, where did you get it? etc.

thanks...

I run two 22" glasspacks and when my wife does ride with me, I can't hear her complaining, so it's ok.

Since my wife won't ride with me anyway, I am taking the factory exaust off my 66. Can't wait, I ordered a Dr. Gas 2.5" system with spintex mufflers and x pipe. I will be running it out the back with stock type turn downs so it will still look stock from the top.

Mark my ears are ringing just looking at yours. Cool car though.

2 22" glasspacks, I bet your ears ring for hours after you go for a drive!!!
My Headers with 2 1/2" pipes, no H or X pipe & Flowmasters out the back is more than loud enough for the local cops to hear me before they see me...

I have run the dynomax bullets before and I can tell you they are loud.

This was on my fox body mustang with a 331, Xcam, and AFR heads.

Cops did not like that car very much.

Well Blacksmith, I really like the idea of the side exit exhaust. Racier looking I guess. Plus, I'm going with 2 1/2" instead of the typical 2". I don't want to have to deal with getting the pipe over the rear end. (Now everyone's going to tell me it's easy to put 2 1/2" over the rear.

I guess I just want to "one-up" the local Mustangers. hehe

You could also try these from Spiral Turbo Inserts
If I ever get stopped for being too loud, this is what I'll add.

Geez those things are expensive. Thankfully, they're not too strict around here about noise. I never see any of those darn rice burners with the tin can exhausts getting pulled over.

I've been pulled over a few times because of the noise, but I think it was just so they could check out the car. LOL
