Hi everyone
there are two baffles for the cast slot which connect the two float bowls in the 4100...is there any special setting as i see they can be up or down a little bit..

and...will the 4100 be fine on an intake which has one large hole vs an intake which has the four separate holes...would i need to get a four hole base plate to adapt to a single hole 4 barrel intake?

thanks

You really don't even need the baffles.
Just push them down as far as they go.
Make sure you have a larger Holley type steel shim plate and gaskets like the #55 Mr. G units.
Most aftermarket SBF aluminum intakes are too small in the carb flange area to seal a 4100 without the shim and large base style gasket.

thanks Alex....that helps...but i am wondering if there are any "connections" under the carb base that would require the four hole design...i can see the four hole design would allow for the barrels to be separate but an open hole design would not...is this important? and the Holly type steel shim plate....any particular number or is there really only one type to look for...thanks in advance

Edelbrock used to supply one of those shim spacer plates with every Performer intake just for that reason.
Mr Gasket, Trans Dapt, Holley, Edelbrock, Weiand, Moroso, etc. all offer the 4 hole shim.
There are vacuum passages in the well of the 4100 throttle body (base plate) that will leak if you do not use a 4 hole gasket that fits.
