I was replacing the steering box when I found the plastic bushing in the end of my Ford tilt steering column was grossly enlarged so there was lots of slop in the shaft. As I investigated, I found some drawings that show bearings, but there are no bearings. Does anybody know which parts I need to stablize the shaft in the steering tube and where I can get them? Would machining a new Delron bushing for the end of the column do the trick? Thanks, Tim

The nylon bushings are no longer available. However if you have the ability to machine replacements I would be interested in hearing from you! Scott------------------ Scott Halseth National Parts Depot 65 Convt 66 Coupe 03 Coupe

Thaks for the information. Based on this news, I wlll try machining one out of Delron. Any chance you would know where I could get orginal dimensions? I have taken some measurments, but orginal dimensions would be great.I'll let you know how the project goes. Thanks, Tim

I had one made and it works great. I have pictures that I can send and dinemsions if interested. I basically made it a bit large on the OD, and small on the ID so I could finish fit it for the car. I may be able to get more made if there is interest. Tim
