I bought a set of the reproduction manifolds. Started to install them and found that the left mainfold is not clearing the power steering hoses. I know headers require a bracket to move power steering components. But thought hi-po manifolds are supposed to be a bolt-on item. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks Bill

When the hipo exh manifolds were introduced, power steering was not an available option on the cars so equipped. On a 68, the hoses can be run low like the 390. The bracket is moved to allow this. A two piece 70 PS presure hose also works. Haven't done this yet but will. Have a 68 small block

I had also purchased the HiPO manifolds on a 65 with manual steering. I had to change motor mounts to the HiPo mounts to lift the motor higher to account for the manual transmission. It raises the motor about 1.5". I like Mellow's idea of running new hoses. Steve

That makes sense and is about what I figured. Two piece hose or big block mounting bracket. I'm assuming the big block cars had different hoses too. Either way, it sounds like new hoses are in order. Hmmmm. Is a hi-po motor mount available for the 68's? Thanks Bill
