When I switched to a 4 speed I had to jump across the Neutral safety switch.
I am now going to put a toggle switch in that line with that wire so that the switch can be flipped so the car thinks its "in gear" and will not crank.

Does anybody have a clever place to mount a small toggle switch??
Inside or out! I am open to suggestions / ideas.

If I told you where mine was then I would have to kill you.

But... what I think is a good spot (not that mine is there) is on the passenger side kick panel under the dash up high (not the one in the door). Use a low profile rocker switch of the same color as the kick panel (do they come in anything but black?) and cut in a mount hole and run the wires behind it and under the dash. I would think the bad guys would take quite a while to get around to finding it and give up. I set mine up so the motor cranks but it cuts voltage to the coil. That way they just think it's a hard to start car and maybe don't even look for the kill switch. I have pretty long arms so if mine was there, not that it is, I could reach it fairly easy from the drivers seat.

I put mine in a much more obvious place - under the dash, left of the steering wheel - for two reasons. (1) It's convenient, so I'm sure to use it, (2) I can flick it without a passenger even noticing.

My father in law had one wired behind the ash tray in the dash of his Cadillac. Pull the ashtray out 1/4" and it was killed. Push the ash tray in to start.

I personally prefer a Male/female connector, which isn't as obvious as a switch. Mine is right next to the ignition key. And I tuck it in behind the dash once connected.

For those of you using an MSD Box, if you are using the white wire to fire (ie: you are using a non-MSD distributor) you can use the purple (mated with a green wire) wire as a kill switch. The car won't start if grounded. If you are using the Purple/green wires to fire ( some MSD Distributor Only)then the white wire once grounded will be your kill-switch. The nice thing about it is that the connector must be disconnected for the car to start which to most thief will be illogical

But when the connector is pulled out of the MSD box shouldnt the car start?

I wouldnt call this a kill switch, but more of an "immobiliser". I think of a kill switch as the big safety switch they put on race cars that will allow someone to turn your battery off from outside the car...

Hitting this switch wont turn your motor off, it just means it wont crank...

I know it sounds pedantic, sorry.

FSTBK65,

If I understood your question, what I call a "connector" is not physically located on the MSD box (It is not related to the RPM module connector on the box which set the RPM limits).
I ran the white wire from the MSD box (engine compartment) to the dash board where I ground it and installed a M/F connector (similar to the numerous 2 or 3 wire originaly used in the mustang)along that wire. When the connector is connected, the white wire is grounded and the MSD box disabled.

Indyphil,

Yes it is more of an anti-theft device than a kill switch I guess. I'll correct my definition

Bummer if the passenger decides to smoke & pulls the ashtray out while he's driving though...

It didn't kill the ignition, just interupted the starter.
