Very boring topic I am sorry but I am trying to pick the right combo of connectors & lines for my fuel lines and I am totally

My stock 302 fuel-pump-to-carb line has a 1/2" diameter threaded nut going into the pump(feeding the carb), is that a 1/2" NPT ?

If the nut is 1/2" dia. then it's a 3/8 tubing or flare nut, which is different from a 3/8 NPT. If you're trying to install a braided line from the fuel pump to the carb, You need an adapter fitting that threads into the outlet on the pump and adapts to dash 6 or dash 8 AN braided line, depending on how big you want the line to be.

I get it now, after reading your reply I stumbled accross this pdf:

http://www.omega.com/temperature/Z/pdf/z261-262.pdf

NPT is a Cone type thread. the Flare nut to NPT adapter is not listed anywhere I may have to change pump if I want to do this. These fitting sure don't come cheap !!

Thank for your reply

Try Jegs or www.aeroquip.com. I have to believe that there is an adapter for your application. If you have an aeroquip dealer anywhere nearby I'd check with them also.

If you have any small airports near you they might be able to hook you up. I picked up a racecar parts catalog from an aircraft supply place.

Hi I was just looking at the Summit site and found this Inverted Flare to -6AN this might be what you are looking for.

If you find the bit you are looking for drop me an email as I am in England, and I bring bits over from Summit on a regular basis.

I beg to differ guys, but a half inch flare nut would accomodate a 5/16 line only.
3/8 lines use a 5/8 head flare nut.

Pierre, get the fitting that steve suggested. The threads are 1/2 20 on the tube nut. You'll need an adapter fitting for the carb also. I'd recommend -6 hose.
