Hi, I was reading on the forum that you can drill a hole for a dipstick for a 1979 302 engine.

Is that the place in the circle in the picture? If so, what size drill and how deep must I expect it to drill it.

not 100 % sure but that looks like the right spot. I would get the dip stick and measure how big that is so you know how big to drill.

Also you should take the timing cover off so you don't get fillings in the oil/motor.

Richard.

Read in an EFI article,,,,11/32" Hard to tell from pic if thats the right place but close. If you have access to an old cover for reference, you can pick the location. Actually, you can pretty much tell by looking at it. The cover should come off and don't forget you'll have to attach the brace on the timing cover tube to the engine front.
