Hey All!!!

I have got the 390 into my Mustang (67 Coupe original 289) the Hookers were a nightmare!! The engine is about a 1/4 inch from resting on the motor mounts, it wont go any further and it appears that the oil pan is sitting on the front tubular crossmember. SO, are the crossmembers diffrent? If so were can I get a big block crossmember?

Thanks Guys!!!

Did you use big block motor mounts?

It looks like I may have outdated my own post... I have the small block frame brackets, and I spoke with a Mustang parts supplier and they told me that indeed, the brackets for small blocks and big blocks are different. It looks like the BB mounts will make the engine sit a little higher and solve the problem, fingers crossed everyone...

Could ya just make a new crossmember so the engine will stay low in the car? Or is going to have other interference as well? Just an idea..

I thought about fabricating a new crossmember, but the motor mounts will not fit on the frame mounts. I think that is the central issue, once I solve that it should clear the crossmember. Looks like I will be pulling another al nighter.

This will throw your driveline angle all out of wack and you'l have one heck of a vibrating car.
