Just saw in a thread that some people have to adjust the rear height of their hood. There was an article in Mustang and Ford(or was it Mustang Monthly?). Anyway, the article mentioned that the main cause for the hood being too high at the rear was that the hinges weren't lubricated enough. Most of the time, some Jig-a-loo would do.

We used to have a good thread on this, but I'll be damned if I can find it!

RICKS from NPD wrote up an excellent description, and if I recall right he said you loosen the front hinge bolts on the apron and slightly loosen the rears and gently push up on the front of the hood which allows the bottom part of the hinge to rotate on it's axis and actually pulls the hinge down.

I forgot to add that it's a two person job, the owner of the car pushes up on the hood which the helper cinches down the bolts.

It was also written up in MMonthly. It works. Having no engine in car, sat inside while someone pushed the hood back to cowl rocking the hinge to get the hood in place. Works like a charm. Have to say that I tries the hole enlargement gig and it is a fruitless effort.

Went back in the stacks but it's buried. I can only say it's within a year. It's an article by Don Farr at Pete Geisler's Orlando Mustang. They were doing it on a 65 Mustang. The time to do it is with engine out. Easier. I had the front bolts loosened, just enough for them to give in to a push. The rear one, just went out and looked(68), and it is at the end of the adjustment.
