so tonight I replaced the shocks on Trixie (the 65 coupe)....that cured the rattle in the front end (not the clatter, haven't got to that yet)....anyhow....took her around the block just to make sure everything is okay.....I get to the end of my street and stop at the sign (about 50 yards), make a left and go about 50 yards to the end of that street and STOP at the stop sign. I make another left and just as I straighten up, there's this lady and guy walking their dog.....the lady is waving her arm (whole body)...so I stop and ask if I can help them with anything.....she says, "sloooooow doooownnn....don't go so faaaast"....I reply, "ma'am, I just came from a complete stop and I was doing about 5 miles an hour." she repeated the sloooow doooownnn thing again....I said, "okay, next time I won't stop and I'll take the turn at about 30 !".....got back in the car and I'm happy to report that I now know Trixie has a limited slip rear-end !!!
I live in an older neighborhood, great friends with all around the block (including two other Pony People and a cop)...don't know where these two came from, but geez....know what I mean ?

no, but I do have my 73 with the long tube hookers and 2 chamber flowmasters....got my next door neighbors who rented out their house to a WONDERFUL couple....turned out to be GREAT friends.....decided they wanted to move back in and "forced" them to move out....treated them VERY bad to get them to move.....
ever since they've moved back in I've had an urge to work on Scarlett at all hours of the night....outside of the garage....with the rear end facing their house.....vroom-vroom !

My neighbors in Nanaimo are great people, they always come over when the 65 is out to have a look at it. They always want to go for a ride or take it for a spin, but what really surprises me is they want me to roast the tires all the time and when I do it every now and then they whip out their cameras and take pictures. I really do have cool neighbors.

My neighbors are ok, but their kids need to be taught that the street is NOT the baseball/soccer/whatever the game is at the time field of play. I noticed my windsheild has a divot in it, now it's toast with the hot days and cool nights, the crack will travel to the ends. My back windsheild is scratched beyond repair, and the spoiler has scrapes on one end. I know they're only kids, but how many times do they have to be ask/told to move on somewhere else? Almost wish I was 12 again, just to get the pleasure of...

Kind of the same subject, the other day I was testing/tuning my car on the street. Was at a stop lite wanting to go right. The coast was clear, made my right turn and friggin' hammered it.It's about 1/4 to the next intersection.Well those tires were going up in smoke for at least an 1/8 mile and all of a sudden I heard sirens.Looked in my rearview mirror and it was an unmarked cop in an SUV.
The officer comes up to my window and says do you have any idea how fast you were going?I said geez officer I really dont know but my darn gas peddel stuck to the floor. He pulls his glasses down to the tip of his nose and says,"really, pop the hood".I opened up the hood and he saw a huge tunnel ram and two huge carbs. He then said start it up.Well I did and it ran perfectly.
I got a 30 minute lecture and basically he said take it to the track for testing.BOY did I get lucky.

The lady across the street from me (a good friend) commonly refers to mine as the "loud old car". That was with the old 289. Wait till she hears the 425 hp 347 that's going into it now!!!! Should be good fun!

I live in the country... although some of the houses are fairly close by country standards.....

Any way when ever we meet a neighbor for the first time it's "OH your the guy with all those Mustangs". "I love the red one or the white one or Green one"....

Funny I never see the nieghbors when I riding around...

Prostreet, you aren't kidding when you say you got lucky. I'm not that knowledgable about how many tickets you could have gotten or even lost your car/license but I bet if the cop was a real jerk it could have got ugly.

I pull out of my residential (25MPH) onto a pretty wide open (no houses, side streets, etc.) 45MPH country road to test and my neighbor (two blocks from 45MPH) says he knows everytime I'm in test mode. He helped many hours on my car so he loves it.

Yeah my neighbors really like open headers too. "Slow it down!" One of them yelled at me.
So then I hit the gas. hehe He really loved that.

Me next door neighbor hasnt talked to us for about 5 years. All because of a little bit of noise in the garage. Grinders, air chisel, sanders, etc.
She came over and helped herself into OUR fence and OUR garage. She then tried to tell my dad what to do.
The conversation ended with.
"Well fine. I wish I hadn't come over!"
"Yeah me too. And while you're over here trying to tell me what to do, why don't you keep your da#n cats from pissing on my front porch."

I got into an arguement with her daughter over how "rude" my car was. She was pissed about it through the mufflers.

Her son has long hair like a girl and drives a VW bug....

My other neighbor saw me rolling my slicks around on a friday and asked me if I needed a "crew chief". He was dead serious.
Just the other night he made the comment "You need to finish that deck up so that WE can put a hot tub out there and so that WE can get in it every night."
We then decided to enclose the hot tub.

But you guys don't drive VW bugs.
In the words of Jerry Seinfeld... "Not that there's anything wrong with that"

If I remember correctly it could have been something like a 34 point ticket.Careless driving, wreckless driving, exhibition of speed, endangerment of pedestians and a couple other charges. And your right,I got very lucky.I wasn't stupid with the cop,not buligerant,I was very polite but he knew I was BS'ing when I said the pedal stuck. He said he's seen me drive the car many, many times and I'm always within the speed limit and obey all the laws except for the loudness of the pipes.I'll never test this car on the street again and I certainly know better.

When we 1st bought this house I was the only one who got up each morning and went to work, everyone else was retired, they just turned down their hearing aids when I worked on the cars

Last year the house next to me was sold to a couple in their mid 30's.
To the Left the elderly lady passed and left everything to her nephew,he bought home a 32 Coupe.Shortly after he fired it up and took a cruise, they, the new neighbors asked if I mind the noise,LOL...I had the son bring the 68FB over,Ain't nothing like Cams and Open Headers in Stereo

I laid a stripe in my street when I "tested" the new engine. No-one said a thing. Im on the board of the homeowners association anyway so I would know if someone complained.

I figure they will not take much more of that stuff though so I wont be doing it again.

Having said that I have a friend on the north side of Atlanta who lives in a swanky hood and his 03 cobra with big aftermarket exhaust is too much for his neighboors who always complain. He lives on a hill so it makes more noise when he leaves the area going up the hill. Its not as loud as a harleyD and hes not being an A-hole and revving it.

I have good neighboors but it helps that I had them all over for a cookout last month. My next door neighboor wants me to help him when he buys his uncles rusty 72 tempest.
