They will continue to race, moronic behavior will not be stopped because a law has been passed. ------------------ JOHN 65 FASTBACK 2+2 87 TAURUS WAGON 03 F150 XLT SUPER CREW 4X4 SHORT BOX Member: PACIFIC COAST MUSTANG ASSOCIATION Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 65 FASTBACK 2003 F150 XLT SUPER CREW 4X4

I think here in California, they can already charge you for reckless driving which I *believe* is a felony. Also exhibition of speed (misdemeanor I think). If you are caught street racing they can also impound your car for a minimum of 30 days. Hell, when I was living in San Diego, I was told that they could impound your car for being a spectator!! I would much rather see these same people race on a real track (and get their asses handed to them by our mustangs) but some laws are a little stupid. On a related note: Any 1/8 or 1/4 miles tracks in and around San Jose, Ca ??.. David F.

Speaking of laws that go too far, consider this pending legislation for the folks over in the great state of Minnesota: Issue: Racing Bill: HB 3521 Status: Introduced Location: Description: Makes vehicle racing a reckless driving offense no matter if the the speed was in excess of the maximum speed. Also defines exhibition driving, which can be evidenced by screeching tires, throwing of gravel, etc. Author: Representative Cybart Intro Date: 15-Mar-06 Bill Type: One Year Bill
Dustin Rinne ('f100Cleveland') of MN, if this proposed law is passed, your local "Johnny Badge Boy" would/could nail you for RECKLESS DRIVING for simply squealing a tire while leaving your burgerstand driveway @ 10-mph.... That's really makes you a threat to society, doesn't it?! For more info on this or on upcoming auto-related legislation in YOUR State, go here: http://www.semasan.com/main/main.aspx?ID=61848 Ryan

Forget about the tuner guys these new laws scare me...Maybe they'll pass a law in a few years demanding all cars should have stock engines or something to that affect...Or perhaps you won't be able to insure your mustang because it has a "stroker" hi performance engine. After all why would you need that if you aren't going to be racing?....Lets hope it never happens but we seem to be headed in that direction
