The last that I heard, they ain't giving away national event records. You have to earn them.I'm sure Alex has paid his dues to get where he is.The fact that he's willing to share what he's learned speaks volumes of his character. If that other guy can drive his car to the track, set a national elapsed time record and then drive his car home, I'll be the first one to shake his hand.

Perfect example of why I left V-M 6 years ago when it was a post-to board and not even a real forum yet. Too many idiots over there. You just can't argue with guys like that, easier to just walk away from them.

I ventured, for a minute, to those other Mustang sites, but nothing compared to the friendly and knowledgeable information I found/find here. I consider you guys VERY good friends that I would help in any way possible, and that says a lot about me, I don't usually give a **** about other peoples problems. Better them than me, except I like to help the good people here, and have, and will again if possible. Thanks for the minute . ------------------ William The easiest way to find something lost, is to buy a replacement. 68 Coupe 289 C4 3:55's/Trac-Lok

Some people run for records, some just run their mouths one of those two will earn you respect. If you have ever met Alex in person you will find him comfortable to be around, fun and very knowledgeable on the subjects he speaks. Sam

I just had to pipe in here. Please don't take this as a flame on anyone here. I've been a member here and at VMF for a long time and I think we all agree that we love our Mustangs. Why cut down another forum just because we don't agree with a post? I've received good information from here as well as VMF. Just to clear something up, Alex's nickname is NOT Doc and he DOESN'T live in AZ? I think the VMFers have him confused with some complete idiot real-estate broker from AZ. ------------------ 66 Mustang Coupe 289/3spd (5.0/T5 and lots more in the works) On a budget so tight it's not funny

I'm confused here, why all the fuss over people on other forums giving kudos to Alex? I don't see where anyone's flaming him, to the contrary, it sounded like they were all impressed....as should be!! As far as "Doc" the money MANAGER, he just had a pile of $$ and can pretty much do what he wanted! What's wrong with that?------------------ Mark 1966 Mustang 2+2 Details here: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/667160

I don't either. Saw the post on V-M and to be honest don't know a good ET from a mediocre one and don't know anything about racing classes, etc. Do know that Alex is a good guy so I posted it here in good spirit. Don't care if someone likes V-M or not but was surprised to see the flaming. Bob Dooley, the webmaster of V-M, like Steve and Alex, is a good person who also has a real job. Like Steve, he tries to have a good site. We are fortunate to have dedicated people like them, trying to have the best for us. Not being a mechanical whiz have several bookmarks from M&M and V-M both. BOTH of these sites are ACES UP and have some differences in philosophy but all is cool for me. Have even got info on Stangnet but a glitch in password has prevented me from getting back on after staying off for over a year. A guy there said I should get Firefox and have. Have yet to go there-not important. When J.Smart made the boo-boo about K code vins on blocks, "toured" Boss, Hipo sites and do not care to return. Go on M&M and V-M every day and see a number of people who do the same. Great places to be on and would not care to be in a postiton to make a choice. Don't categorize friends like that so..........

I agree with Stan. They seem like a good board and you can't blame the board if you don't agree with one of the posters. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '70 Mustang Convertible - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 XL

VMF really is a top notch forum. I've meet several good friends personally as a result of that site. Every site gets boneheads...it's gonna happen. VMF doesn't tolerate it. What makes it good is a core of very helpful and knowledgable folks. I have been a member there for 5 years or so. It was invaluable in helping me to restomod my car. That bonehead response that guy made was just plain wierd. Trying to compare a full race car staying within SS/LA rules (moneymaker's) to some low 11 second street driven car probably with a bunch of aftermarket parts is like comparing apples to sour grapes...and his car was slower! Some people just can't be impressed. One thing that I am a major advocate of is that "bigger isn't always better". A lot of folks nowadays just automatically jump on the aftermarket bandwagon and say to use this big head or use that big head when there is soooo much more to it than just head selection. So, when I saw that Moneymaker is using ported 289 heads to break records, run in the 10s, and make power at very high rpms, I sit up and take notice. I could probably find a lot of guys who would say that he needs AFR 205s to accomplish what he did...nope!
