Engine runs well at idle and when accelerating slowly but when I accelerate more rapidly the engine runs very rough. Any ideas? My second issue, which I am thinkng may be related to my first it that my spark plug wires touch my headers (Hooker Comps). The insulation is melted a bit(though not all the way through to the metal connectors). Does anyone have Hooker Comps headers, if so what wires are you using to get the wire-header clearance? Though I don't post often, I read this site mutliple times/week and learn lots...really appreciate you guys, your insight and attitude. [This message has been edited by 65VA2+2 (edited 05-28-2006).]

I really don't know what kind of full length headers I have as they came with the car, but I also had issues with melting boots on the plug wires. I bought some Summit cut to fit wires with the 90 degree boots and cut and trimmed each wire to fit in generic wiring looms, so now they clear each header flange. The wires even came in blue.------------------ reliving youth

I have used insultor which fit over the wires and protect them from excessive heat from the Headers.http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=DEI%2D010504&N=115&autoview=sku Sam

I have the hooker comps and I use Ford Racing 9MM from Mr. Denysenko. I just use some generic wire clips and arranged it all so they are nowhere near headers. I think they also come in blue.
