I don't think this has been posted but here is the website in order to sign a petition to Ford about the "Mustang" fiasco.
http://www.petitiononline.com/65must65/petition.html
Since we all love Mustangs and Mustangs Plus is one of the big organizations that Ford is going after, we ought to really get behind this.

You know, I just don't feel right adding my name to that petition. I was going to hold off posting this on the other thread at Sam's Place, but since it is here now I'll add my two cents.

While I completely agree 100% with the intent behind this petition, I think it is poorly written and expresses more anger and emotion than rational thought.

I'd gladly add my name to a petition that thoughtfully points out "our" side of the issue in a calm and rational manor, and is presented professionally.

Call me snooty, but I think you win more points to your argument that way than being whiny and insulting.

Edit: Stan, I know that's not your petition and you are just posting it here, so no offense to you personally. I'd rather sign a petition that was written a little bit better.

On the same subject.... Since Ford Carlisle is next week and there are bound to be Ford representatives there, it may be an opportunity to personally express our disatisfication directly to them. Anyone going to Carlisle may want to seek these guys and let them know the trouble that Ford's policy is causing among the faithful.

No offense taken. I just hope that all of us don't become like most voters in the U.S.—Apathetic! Check out how many people voted in any last election in your area. I bet it wasn't over 30%.
If you don't like this one find/write your own!!

Hey...for C***** S*ke, do you guys need a legal drafted "instrument" on a scroll to have to sign a grass roots petition????? So it's not perfect to the word....So what! It was no doubt drafted in haste, and I did catch a misspelled word. But....it's the person on the street, the person in the trenches, the person who buys and drives Fords. This is the voice that should be heard. So....if it wasn't drafted by a scholar, so what! My grammar's not perfect either. Is yours? Come on guys, sign! If it had been verbose, etc. it might not get read in the "in your face" manner for which it's intended.

#1571 and here's what I wrote:
Would that mean that I could'nt use the word "focus" in my photography business name? Why not have people change the name of thier astrological sign to "Bull" instead of Taurus. There's a club here called "Fusion" maybe you should go raid the establishment and close them down. How about you guys spend more time on making your cars get better gas mileage or better yet safer? Isn't there a modeling agency called "Ford". How come no class action suits against them? Buddy Guy had a great hit called Mustang Sally, shouldn't he be sentenced to prison? By the way, I just did a search for the word mustang online and got 44,300,000 hits. Have fun chasing all of them down. You guys have way to much time on your hands.

I applaud the initiative, regret that the author didn't take adequate initiative to have somebody with basic high-school writing skills "tune-it-in" to something legitimate for an executive to read, and I regret many of the childish comments written in poor taste, that may nullify any positive influence this petition could have.

The only way this petition (in its form, and with its ridiculous comments from certain signatures) can possibly sway those at Ford who sway influence over this enforcement effort, is if the aforementioned Ford brass is capable of seeing the forest for the trees, i.e. consider the petition as its whole, not as its individual parts, or its author necessarily.

That could actually happen, as it was public outcry, both civil and profane/crude, that played a large part in keeping the Probe a Probe, and a Mustang a Mustang...

I would go ahead and sign it. And throw them as many barbs as you wish. Just throw them like an olympian would throw a javelin, not how Cousin Eddie would throw a beer can.

BTW, Cynot, I thought your comments were good, all good points, and you kept it clean... That's what we need.
