this may be a stupid question but on a c4 transmission can you replace the torque converter studs that bolt it to the flywheel there stripped but the torque converter is fine is this possible and who would do that thanks sal

I don't see an easy fix here. I suppose you could remove the converter and cut the stud out and reweld a new one. But for the cost of a new converter and the hassle to do the repair and the chance it could leak or keeping the stud straight just buy a new one, step up for a mild stall, you'll be a lot happier.

In the Philippines this would be no problem, 'cos we don't want to pay for imports + BIG duty. Try a machine shop and ask them to cut a new thread on the studs. You'll probably end up going metric but that's no biggy to keep your converter in service.
