I don't see an easy fix here. I suppose you could remove the converter and cut the stud out and reweld a new one. But for the cost of a new converter and the hassle to do the repair and the chance it could leak or keeping the stud straight just buy a new one, step up for a mild stall, you'll be a lot happier.------------------ Darryl Eichenlaub 1965 Mustang Coupe restomod 289,c4,body and interior mods. 1956 F-100 460,c6,9" major body mods, on going project. 1967 Mustang Fastback, father/son project 5.0,5spd,9". 1975 F250 4x4 Highboy 390,4spd,35",custom paint. 2002 Mustang v6,5spd, daughters college ride. 2001 Ford Escape, Wifes grocery getter.

In the Philippines this would be no problem, 'cos we don't want to pay for imports + BIG duty. Try a machine shop and ask them to cut a new thread on the studs. You'll probably end up going metric but that's no biggy to keep your converter in service.
