My engine gets up past 190deg and the fan will not come on. I have the temp probe on the top of the manifold taking the temp from the top of the radiator. Is this a good or bad place to have it?Please help me. -Jeff

I didn't understand your placement of the probe. Mine feeds into the top radiator hose and goes into the radiator. The best place is to feed it into the intake just like the temp sender. The box the probe is attached to has a "+" and "-" on it. The + is for higher temp turn on, - for lower. Make sure you have the box wired correctly, it can be confusing. Good luck.

The Derale switch that screws into the intake is best, but the one like you've got can be made to work ok. Some thermal grease, like what is used on computer heat sinks can help. Buy some at Radio Shack.Of course, you should also check the main wiring to the fan, etc, especially if it was working before.... before you automatically blame the switch. ------------------ Mike Burch 66 mustang real street 302 4-speed 289 heads 10.63 @ 129.3 http://www.geocities.com/carbedstangs/cmml_mburch.html http://www.fortunecity.com/silverstone/healey/367 http://www.mustangworks.com/cgi-bin/moi-display.cgi?220
