Hey, guys. I bought the 1" rear lowering kit from NPD for my '67 and I'm getting ready to put it on. Looks pretty straight-forward, but I was wondering if anyone had any tips or warnings before I started. If there's a way to screw it up, I'll find it. Thanks!

jack up your car and put jack stand on the frame not the springs or the rear end. Then use your jack under the rear end. Take off the ubolts on one side. Use your jack and lift the rear on that side. place block and tighten. then do the other side when both sides are done torque them down. lower car. check nuts etc. Drive for a couple of days. check nuts again. How thick are the blocks from NPD? Are they a little thicket than 1"? Thanks, Richard. Yeah, the blocks are actually around 1 1/4" thick. Hopefully it will still lower the car just an even inch. Anything more than that and I might have the dreaded "squat" look. Just take your time and don't rush it. Try to get the blocks as centered as a possible on the leafs, not off to one side or the other...

Hey, guys. Just wanted to update you and let you know I got the lowering blocks put it, and everything went smoothly. (Which was a refreshing change...) I can really tell a difference in the stance now. It's almost a little too low in the back, but not too bad. Maybe off by 1/4"-1/2". I know that's nitpicky, but I want that stance dead-on perfect. I'm debating on what to do next. It looks like I might be able to shave a 1/4" or so off the bottom of the blocks, as long as I have enough clearance left in that hole for the bolt and nut to fit in. Anyone know for sure? Or would it be easier to drop the front end a 1/2". Any easy affordable ways to do that? Thanks!------------------ Wade '67 A-code Fastback "Sunlight on chrome The blur of the landscape Every nerve aware"

Have you replace your leaf springs? If not, get a set for a GT from NPD.

the lowering kit from NPD is more like 1.25" so that may explain the difference. Mine also went in/on with out any problems. Would love to see a pic of the stance if you have time.Richard.

No new leaf springs yet, ga289. Might need to add those to the wish list... I figured the blocks being 1.25" had something to do with the geometry, like maybe they needed to be 1.25" to get a full inch of lowering or something. But you're right, Richard, it did drop more than an inch. It's so close to perfect I'm not in any hurry to mess with it, though. The rocker panel is about as parallel to the ground as it's ever been, and that's what I was shooting for. I took a ton of pics last weekend with the digital camera. I need to post a few. Thanks for the input, guys!------------------ Wade '67 A-code Fastback "Sunlight on chrome The blur of the landscape Every nerve aware"
