Is there any way to get a title for a car in Virginia that does not have one?

Have you checked with DMV? How did you acquire the car? Any chance of getting the title from the previous owner?Carole ------------------ Miss Stang - Arcadian Blue '66 C-code coupe (alias "Miss Cranky") M&M June '03 Ford Product of the Month Anni - 99 Coupe, Crystal White, palamino interior, 35th anniversary stripes, 3.8 liter abused daily driver Windy - '06 Windveil Blue GT coupe MCA #45106 M&M #501 - got those 501 blues Member of the MCT Peanut Gallery http://www.mustangsandmore.com/ubb/ctastang.html

Maybe a title service?(Broadway Title). Bought a 66 cv that had a title but the name on title was dec'd and he had sold it to a friend for $1.00 and that person had signed the back of title was dec'd. It would have been a long drawn out deal so I got paper work from a non title state ie Maine, through them, took the paper work in to tag agency and got a title. Every state can be different but it's worth a try.

You'll probably have to do a Title search thru the DMV, it's to dertermine the car is not on the hot sheet, and then it's just a waiting game. As stated tho, you might want to call to get an answer, instead of thinking the worst.------------------ William M&M# 4256 MCA# 64831 68 Coupe 289 C4 3:55's/Trac-Lok

I have done it. Contact DMV and they will arrange for an inspector to look at the car. He will take the VIN and run it thru their computer. If it comes back as not stolen they will issue a title. Did this about 3 yrs ago on myy 66 Conv project.------------------ Scott Akom 65 Coupe (Modified) 68 Coupe (Son's) 2000 GT Conv. (Wifes) 1987 GT Conv. Not sure about Virginia, but some states also require whats called a Title Bond. Basically you pay for an insurance policy that "bonds" the title to be good for a certain time period. This protects future buyers of the vehicle in case a prior owner shows up with documentaiotn claiming the vehicle. It's kinda like title insurance for a home.Yea, I've been through this process and its not fun...or cheap.
