Got an education last nite. Putting front of engine together, discovered that my late timing cover has the wrong water flow direction. With an E5 no. didn't realize this until seeing pics on another board. So first thought was merely getting earlier pump-no way. Using the original 90 fan clutch, etc. I now have a prob. Will need an E-6 up timing cover. Oh well! My first thought was to go v-belt but want to use tha later AC Comp and PS pump.

You can still go v-belt and use the latemodel PS & AC pumps, just change the pullies. Switch the fan for an LTD 5.0 unit (rightways rotation) and you're set. If using 3-bolt pullies, Summit's 5.0 replacement balancer has the 3-bolt pattern for $65. Thanks for input. Engine is an HO-have the 3 bolt 50 oz dampner from a previous carb install in another car. Already have the V-belt rebuilt PS pump, Sanden compressor with adapter. Figure I can use everything. Have pics of a 67 that Morris did. Funny! I talked to him over a year ago about doing the EFI and I asked him about the V-belt deal he had done on the 67 that belonged to his Dad. Asked what was an advantage of either one and he said "You get better bragging rights at cruies nites and shows with the serpentine"!Glad that Summit is selling the 3 bolt dampner fot a reasonable price. Others have asked as high as $200.

Those "chinese" balancers just hit the market a few months ago. I have sold a couple already, but for chebbies only. They look really cheap.
