...the newly listed, "1965 Mustang for $2500" in M&Ms Classifieds claims, "The original radio is STILL there, including the original speakers in the back, along with the 8-trak player that came with it." I didn't think 8-track players were options until the late 60s...? Does anyone know what year 8-tracks were first optioned for Mustangs? Thanks! Ryan

It was either 67 or 68, as far as I can remember there was never a factory or dealer installed 8-Track in a 65------------------ JOHN 65 FASTBACK 2+2...14.44 @ 107 MPH 87 TAURUS WAGON 03 F150 XLT SUPER CREW 4X4 SHORT BOX Member: PACIFIC COAST MUSTANG ASSOCIATION Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 65 FASTBACK 2003 F150 XLT SUPER CREW 4X4

1966 was the first year the 8 track was available as an option for Mustangs. Terri's '66 still has one that works. Also confirmed via the Mustang Red Book and Standard Catalog of Ford. It's also possible that the '65 listed in the Classifieds was made late in the '65 model run.
