I was slipping the dust boot onto the fork and noticed that the rubber boot extends past the end of the fork by about an inch.

Is this normal for a new Ford boot?

I don’t remember exactly which fork I have but it had a D0**-7541-* on it and I only see two listing that start with D0. I figure it has to be D0DZ-7515-B that is marked D0DA-7541-B since it is listed for 70 250, 302 and 351. The other is for a 428 and 429.

Anybody know how long this fork is?

I think it was also used on 70-71 Torinos. The late 68-69 fork was marked C8OA-7541-A is 10 ½” long so I would like to compare the lengths.

I have a T10 out of my 68 laying on the floor of the shop right now that has both the boot and the fork installed. I will take a look later tonight and see what it looks like.

Cheers,

Rick

I took a look at mine. The measurements are below. The boot fits flush with the end. I know the boot is aftermarket, most likely got it from Virgina Mustang, Dallas Mustang, or NPD. I bought it about 15 years so couldn't tell you exactly. I looked for a PN on both the arm and the boot, I can't find one. However, the arm is pretty dirty and is waiting for me to get the solvent tank repaired so it can take a bath. Where is the PN located? I will scrub it down and look.

My boot looks like this:

My fork is looks like this but is missing the tang for the spring to attach to at the end. It doesn't look like the end is broken, it just looks like it never had one.

5" from pivot point to rod dent
5 3/4" from pivot point to end
3 3/4" from pivot point to end (fork side)

If you need a pic or anything else, just ask.

Cheers,

Rick

It should be in the middle if it's there at all. With the fork mounted and the trans installed you might not see it.
