What is the difference between an electric tach and a analog? Can I mount any tach on the steering column? Suggestions on what tach to get? Was going to order from Summit.

Thanks.
Richard.

Autometer has good stuff, I got mine at AZ, and it works perfect. These good people had it hooked up and going within a 1/2 hour. I put mine right on the column, and it don't block nothing too much. I sent those pics that same night to your other email, so if you didn't get them this time, email me and I'll reply with them. Luck

I got the pics, thanks. I think I am going to do the steering column for now. What is the difference between analog and digital?

How big should I go? Been looking at this real nice multi color summit tach. It is part number sum-g2908. don't know that it will install on the column.

Richard.

If you are going to mount it on the column, I wouldn't go bigger than a 4" one. Any bigger, or with a shift light, I'd go off the dash. Not sure, but I'm gonna say analog is the dial type, and digital is the number only.

Definitely agree. Got my old original Sun tach mounted on the column of my '65 Falcon and any bigger would really interfere with seeing the dash gauges or turn signal switch etc.
Analog has the dial with numbers and digital just has the numbers that flash on with no dial.
