As mentioned in a few previous posts I am sprucing up the engine compartment on my 65 Convertible. Todays question is the wire feeding the washer pump. Mine is toast as its found itself up against the header at some point. Is the wire usually not wrapped up in the headlight harness? Mine is by itself and I cant find where it would have been taped up with other wires anywhere.

If I remember correctly the 66 that I restored for my sister had the pump wire all alone like you described...It does seem kind of odd.------------------ 68 J-Code,Sprint,306 4 speed,4.11s 13.69@101............... 66 coupe 289 4 speed, 3.20 cruiser http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy.html http://mustangsandmore.50megs.com/MembersPics/mustangboy2.html

You are correct. It is a single wire that is not wrapped with the engine wire harness. Not very expensive to replace. Check out NPD.Richard.

65 is a single wire, 66 is a dual wire that looks kinda like lamp cord. Not all cars had multi-speed wipers and not all cars had washer pumps, so if you had the option it would be with the separate wire, not part of the main harness.
