Anybody got pics of their box install?
I read the article here, which was helpful, but I started out with two different style boxes and neither are working out.
I have a 67 FB.
I am wanting to mount mine over the right frame rail.
The Taylor aluminum box is so big that getting the battery out of it after an install will likely require taking out the whole box. Plus, the top of the frame here is so unlevel that I'm sure sinching down the battery will completely distort the bottom of the box. I suppose I could cut different size rubber grommets under the box to level it, but the previously mentioned issue makes me less inclined to work this issue.
I have a Summit plastic box, which is alot smaller, but the hold-down bracket that came with it actually doesn't even fit inside the box (???).
Any help would be appreciated.
Joe

I mounted mine right over the frame rail, but it's in a 65. So I not sure the truck floor is the same??
On mine I used a plastic box.But made my own mounts out of 1/2" all thread rod.I got the box level on the rail. Turned it so the rods would be on either side of the frame rail. I put large washers on the inside of the battery box,and under it. On the under side of the car I used 4"x4" steel plates.Once installed you can remove the battery easy, but it will not move at all once in place.

Thanks Fastymz.
Went to your website...man that's a big scoop! Plenty of air for that motor!
Got any pics of your battery box you could post up?
Thanks
Joe

Wow thanks guys for the pics/ideas.
Here's where I'm headed with this now.
The reason the Taylor box limited the battery removal was because I had it positioned pretty far forward to get it off the angled bumper reinforcement. To address this, and the non-level frame rail, I notched a piece of 3/4" plywood to straddle the reinforcement. This works out well for a flat surface that's far enough back that I can get the battery out of the box. I'm not through, but this will give some idea:

That turned out nice! You still have to anchor it all down, right??? Very interested in that, and how you route your cables too. Nice work .

Thanks William.
Yes, anchoring is the next step, I was just mocking it up here.
The Taylor Box kit comes with two 3/8" rods that will go thru the floor.
I had to post pics for the wire routing in a different thread due to the forum pic limit.
