How much longer is one than the other? When swapping in a 351w with a C6 will the cross memebr line up correctly? The previous engine is an I6 with a C4 tranny.I am putting in a HEI one wire distributor. The cap is not marked with a number one; will number one be where ever the rotor pointing to?

A small block or 300 6short case C-6 is about an inch and a half longer than a C-4. The original crossmember will not work. It won't clear the C-6 pan. You will have to fabricate one. Number one on the distributor will be wherever you plug in #1 plug wire. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver NHRA and IHRA SS/LA & SS/MA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,'03,'04 &'05 First NHRA & IHRA 289 automatic Superstock Mustang in the TENS 06-99 First SS/MA in the TENS 04-03 IHRA division 5 Superstock Champion Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." So the tranny will bolt to the same spot as the current cross member? I just need to make a cross member that will fit the tranny? Anyone know the measurements for a crossmember?
