I am looking at purcasing a 1965 munstang coupe. It has a straight6 in it. It has green metal flake paint that i'm going to have repainted. the guy wants 5 grand for it. I was wondering if this was a good deal and if so if anybody knows where I can find parts to supe it up since i cant find a turbo for an inline 6.
Thanks, 65srt6

Welcome to M&M! How good is the body, floors and the rest of the metal??? 5 grand is a little more than I would be willing to spend on the car, unless it's in REAL good shape. Do you plan on keeping the 6 in the car??? If not, you will have to upgrade the front suspension, and I would get disc brakes for the front at least. 4 wheel drums suck! It's your call, but I strongly believe you could find a decent V8 for that money, then you wouldn't have to worry about the turbo, just stroke it.

It is in good shape. I thought of that but came to the conclusion that it would be more than i am willing to spent and I am not that knowledgeble to swap out the engine.I already planned to put disk brakes on it.

Did you check out that link posted in your last thread??? They are probably a lot of owners on there that can soop this car up for you, and it will be a screamer. Sounds like a good deal, so if you can, get it. These cars are a blast to work on, and if you ever get stuck, you have all these people's knowledge to fall back on. Good luck in whatever you choose.

I don't know of any turbos or turbo kits for the in-line six. You can get a header and tri-power set up for the six. There are several other upgrades that can be made also. Lots of folks have hopped up sixes with great results. Do a search here on M&M and see what information comes up.
