My auto to toploader conversion was a success. It worked the first time I tried it with no final bugs to work out. What a ride!

I couldn't have done it without the help I got from you guys. Special thanks to Sigtauenus for his lengthy post on the subject.

CONGRATULATIONS, ZIEBER!!
THAT'S IT,,,KEEP WALKING TOWARDS THE LIGHT!!

Rowin' thru the gears in a 428-powered '68 Stang has GOT to put smiles on you and anyone riding with you - EVERYTIME!

If a poll was taken, I would guess the majority of folks would admit that running a "Stick on the Street" is WAY MORE FUN than a "Point-N'-Steer automatic" street car.

Row thru them gears & keep it between the ditches, Dude!

Go ahead now, Beat 'em with your Stick!

Most welcome. If I remember that particular post, I wrote it from memory. If you came across anything incorrect, maybe bolt sizes, etc, let me know and I'll fit it.

I took Ford at their word when I saw I had a "Select-Shift_ FMX in my '69. Shifted that puppy all over the place. Didn't have to worry about replacing clutches either.

Had gotten the rythm from my old "Ford-O-Matic." Start out in Low, reach red line, pop that puppy into drive and pull it right back to low to hold second, reach red line, shift into drive.

Worked too!

A manual shift automatic might be great for straight away stuff, but it felt really weird trying to drive one in city traffic. I'll stick to my third pedal, thank you.
