Hey guys,

I've got a '68 with a 302 of unknown origin. I would like to find out what kind of cam grind is in there, is there an easy way to identify the cam? Maybe pull the timing cover and there are ID marks? Of pull the valve covers and measure duration and overlap directly while turning the motor over by hand.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

There might be some casting ID numbers on the cam, maybe not. Also possible that the numbers are on the back of the rear journal to where you couldn't see them without removing the whole darn thing.

With a degree wheel and dial indicator, you could meausre what you have. It'll at least get you in the ballpark as far as what's in it
