Ok, so now I've got exactly the opposite problem that I was having last week. Tonight when I got home from work I went to turn off the car and it kept running. I removed the key and it went on running as if nothing had happened.

1966 coup, 200cui I6 engine, stock.

I have replaced the voltage regulator just last year, the starer switch last week and I'm not quite sure where this issue stems from. Help

On a side note, it did just happen once. I was able to turn it off by chocking off air to the carb, and I restarted it and it turned off right away. I just wanna make sure it doesn't happen again. So what might this be?

I'm confused exactly what you mean here, but agree with Scott, it sounds like the ignition switch.

Had the car been running for a while before you shut it off? Could the car be dieseling?

I would assume (perhaps incorrectly) that by saying he replaced the 'starter switch' that he meant the solenoid near the battery.

Thanks Scott, it does make sense now that you mention it, just wanted to be clear.

I just guessed that since he was replacing things under the hood like the voltage regulator and 'starter switch' that he meant the solenoid.

I think since the problem shows itself when you move the key it must be the electrical switch the key is activating.
