After numerous trips to the alignment shop and a new steering box, I still have about an inch of play in my steering wheel. I had someone turn the steering wheel while I looked underneath, and the ball stud on the control valve moves back and forth about 1/8 inch. I know it's suppose to move, but it doesn't feel like there is any spring pressure resistance. Any PS pros out there that might point me in the right direction to correct the problem? Thanks in advance...JimBob ------------------ 67 Coupe, Father bought new, Ford Racing 5.0L Crate motor (E303cam/X303heads) GT-40 EFI, Cobra Electronics, Tremec 5 speed. That thing is designed to move in one direction - back and forth - but I've seen some seriously worn examples where the groove has been expanded sideways, basically making that part unusable. If you can contort yourself into a position to see, can you see any excessive wear?

The master rebuild kit has a brass bushing that takes alot of slop out of the control valve.
