Could someone please tell me the correct answer? Is the exhaust bolt pattern on the heads 14 bolt or 16 bolt on a 1967 GT 500? No guessing please!!

The 67 and early 68 GT500`s (non KR) used 390 GT heads with the 14 bolt exh pattern.The 16 bolt pattern didn`t come out until the 428CJ head came out, even then some early CJ heads only had the 14 bolt pattern. I had a set of C8AE-J heads (early CJ, 68 W code 427 Cougar GTE) that were 14 bolt.------------------ 78 Fairmont 428 4 speed 10.20@131.5mph 1.32 60 foot 80 Fairmont 302 5 speed 12.8@105mph 85 Mustang NHRA M/Stock 302 5speed. 12.36@106.88mph 1.63 60 foot 59 Meteor (Canadian Ford) 2 dr sedan 332, auto 74 F350 ramp truck 390 4spd

I agree %100.I also had a set of 68 GTE 427 heads and they were 14 bolt..I did the engine many years ago in a local 67 GT500 and it also used/had the 14 bolt heads.Cory ------------------ 68 Fastback 427MR 4 spd.Deluxe interior,8000 tach,140 speedo,am/fm,tilt.Currently under going a major re-fit.1967 Coupe awaiting transformation into a T/A clone
