Of finding a rolling chassis that may need very minor ( maybe chrome replaced, etc. )body work.

That has new or recently new suspension work.(oridinal style work. not looking for a touring style suspension)

That has coverable seat frames (All seats in good, operable condition, just needing covered.)

That needs nothing electrical done.

That just neeeds a drive train?

For say, 3-5k.

I'd prefer 1965-66' because I can use mine as a donor.

Why you ask?

I've been avoiding doing the body work on mine as long as I can. The cowls are shot. I need just about every panle I can touch. (I'm not into throwing a bunch of filler on metal. If I can't patch it with minimal effort, it's easier to just replace the whole piece ) and the interior is way past due.

Mind you, I drive the car daily and even in the condition its in I still get a thumbs up. However, I can't stand it any longer. The car is nice a skin lvl. But pull back the skin and she'll reveal all her short commings.

Anyway.

I was thinking of finding a good rolling chassis and just using mine as a donor. Mine is in perfect mechanical shape. Just about everything wrench turning wise is less that 5 years old and may not have 10k miles on it.

If I can find one in fairly decent shape for what I was going to spend body work wise, I think I'd take that chance.

Thoughts?
