I have 351w motor that came with a c6 and 164 tooth flywheel. I have a 351c motor with c4. I want to switch transmission. Will the flywheel from the 351c work with the 351w motor? 351c motor is shot. The larger C4 bell housing are very hard to find at a good price. The 351w is going into a 65 stang. I also want to switch transmission because the C4 is floor shift versus the C6 being a column shift transmission.

I may be wrong, but I know the 351C takes a Small Block C6, (found this out the HARD way). The 351W most likely has the small block version of the C6 as well. I don't think you have to change the flywheel, just unbolt the torque converter. As far as floor shift column shift, it's just a matter of the shifter linkage, easily modified. Sandra was a column shift that I've attempted to convert to a B&M ratchet shifter. The shifter came with several different arms to hook to various transmissions. Real simple to install a PIA to adjust. (Had to put some Loc-Tite on the shifter cable adjusters) Hope this helps, and If I'm mistaken somebody will come along and correct me in short order. ------------------ 1967 Mercury Cougar 289 (Jezabel) 1974 Ford Ranchero GT 351CJ (Sandra Gayle) 1984 Ford F-150 400M (White Lightning) 2006 F-150 Supercrew 4.6 3V (unnamed)

The flywheel defiantly should swap from the Cleveland to the Windsor but I think the C6 uses a 164-tooth wheel and not the 157T. If the C4 has the wheel it will bolt up to the 351C.
