I have a 69 351W, what are the pros & cons of converting to a duraspark system?

Any suggestions?

Another pro is they seem to last many times longer than aftermarket units.

And service parts are more readily available (and cheaper) than aftermarket.

The only con that I noticed on mine is at higher RPM the advance fluctuates quite a bit. It must have something to do with the electronics in the "brain box". I now run an MSD box and fire it with a factory electronic distributor and it is much more stable at higher RPM. The control module I was using was some generic module so that may have something to do with it. If your motor is mostly stock it shouldn't make much difference.

Also, if you want to keep a stock appearence you can run the small cap on the electronic distributor.
