Certainly looks like he;s got the bucks spent on it, you couldn;t build this car to this level for 12K.
i;m no Torino expert, but, its not a rare model,(to bad its not a big block,eh) but a nice looking car.
if its the kind of Ford you really want i;d think its a good buy.
Still, i wouldn;t buy any car unless i could touch, drive it or have someone in the area look it over for me.
i;ve seen some pics of a couple of falcons that looked really solid, until i got to see em in person

Shouldn't the headlights be hidden on a '70 GT Tornino?

...or are they simply not working and open/exposed in the EBay pictures?

I would want to look at it up close, but if it were as nice as it seems in these photos I'd pay $12k for it. Like Roger said, you couldn't build it for that.

Ryan, the hideaway lights were an option.

The hidden headlights came standard on the Brougham option optional on GT, NA on Cobra. Get one with the hidden lights and everyone will call your car a Charger.

It certainly isn't a GT, the price seems above average for such a car. A set of repro stripes does not a GT make.

Good point, TomP. I was only ASSUMING that the seller had it posted correctly:

Description
Item Specifics - Passenger Vehicles
Ford : Torino 1970 Torino GT Convertible!! Air! 73K Original Miles!!

If anyone was to seriously consider this car, I'd suggest they should confirm the GT status....couldn't that be done via the VIN#? The seller did post the VIN#.... Which one shouldn't ASSUME the VIN# to be correct -- it should be double-checked against what is actually on the car.

TomP,

Why do you say "It certainly isn't a GT"? The VIN decodes correctly for this car except for the carb.
0 = 1970
h = Lorain Assembly Plant
37 = Torino GT Convertible
F = 302-2v
I would question the engine being original since it has a 302-4V sticker on the air cleaner which was not available in 70.

Is there such a thing as a bench seat 2V 302 GT? I dunno, i know it wouldn't be a desirable combo.

I would think that combo would have been available since the bench seat was stand equipment in the GT, buckets were an option. My 70 GT has a bench seat with the optional 351-4V engine.

The 302 2v was the base engine on the 70 GT. I had one,with buckets and a console.
